What this website is
Random Decision Maker is an online tool for choosing between several options at random. You type in the choices you are weighing up, press one button, and the tool returns a single answer drawn from your list. That is the whole product. There is nothing to install, no dashboard to learn and no settings screen to work through first.
The list is entirely yours. It can hold two restaurants, six film titles, a dozen names for turn order, or forty entries for a draw among friends. Each one is treated the same way: an equal position with an equal chance of being selected, however long the list becomes.
We built the site because this kind of choice comes up constantly and rarely deserves the time it takes. Deciding what to cook, which film to start, who presents first, which of two similar products to buy — these questions can absorb twenty minutes of a group conversation and end with everyone slightly frustrated. A random pick returns the time and usually produces an answer nobody minds.
Our purpose
Everything on this site is measured against one aim:

Simpler means the tool asks for as little as possible. You are never required to categorise your options, rank them, sign in, or explain what you are deciding. Faster means the answer arrives in seconds rather than after another round of “I don’t mind, what do you want?”. And more fun matters more than it sounds: watching the shuffle run and land on an answer turns a stalled conversation into a small moment everyone can laugh at and move past.
Keeping to that aim also means saying no to things. We do not add features that require an account, and we do not ask for information the tool does not need in order to make a pick.
How it works
The process is deliberately plain. Your browser does all of the work, which is why the result appears immediately and why the tool keeps running even on a slow connection.
You add your options
Type each choice into the list, or start from a preset and edit the entries. Options can be renamed or removed at any point before you decide.
The tool draws a position
Your browser’s random number generator produces a value, which is converted into one position in your list. Every position carries an identical chance.
You get one answer
A brief shuffle runs down the list, then the selected option appears in the result card. Each new round is independent, so running it again can return a different answer.
One point worth being clear about: this is everyday randomness, not certified randomness. It is well suited to dinner, films, chores and turn order. It is not intended for gambling, prize draws with legal requirements, or any situation where money or a formal obligation depends on the outcome.

The options you type stay in the page you have open. Making a pick does not send your list anywhere, because the selection happens inside your browser, and closing or refreshing the tab clears what you entered. We do not build a history of your decisions.
